TRASH PLANET HAS PARTNERED WITH REFORESTATION NON-PROFIT OFFSET EARTH
An Initiative Dedicated To Planting Trees To Become Carbon Negative
PORTO, June. 18, 2020 – Trash Planet, a sustainable footwear company, today announced a partnership with Offset Earth that aims to plant hundreds of trees for landscape restoration in 2020. For every pair of shoes purchased, Trash Planet will plant fifteen trees.
“Working with Offset Earth is a great fit for Trash Planet,” said Trash Planet founders Holly Boxall and Jordan Grayson. “Sustainability is at the core of our business model, and while we make a tremendous impact upcycling plastic waste, it’s great to have another way to give back and help the environment.”
The objectives of this new partnership include:
- Supporting global reforestation efforts
- Empowering consumers with sustainable actions
- Raising awareness about the importance of ecosystem restoration
Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80 percent of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and supporting communities devastated by environmental damage.
The partnership is designed to be simple for customers to get involved in global reforestation. For every item sold from Trash Planet's inventory, the company will donate to Offset Earth to plant fifteen trees.
